Satoria Bell has earned a seventh Heartland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor, conference officials anounced Tuesday. Bell has claimed seven of the nine POTW honors given out so far this season.
Bell used 26 and 16 point outings on the road against Texas-Permian Basin and St. Edward's, respectively, and has helped lead the Jets to 10 straight wins while maintaining an undefeated Heartland Conference record. Through 18 games in the 2011-12 season, Bell is averaging 23.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She remains the NCAA Div.II women's basketball leading points scorer and has scored 20 or more points in 14 games. The Jets are 16-2, 5-0 (Heartland) with eight games remaining and hold a first place conference standing.
Bell and the Jets will be back in action Jan. 26 when they travel to Goodwell, Okla. to take on the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies inside Oscar Williams Field House. Tip time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
