WICHITA - The Newman women's basketball team missed out on a NCAA Div. II ranking by one vote Tuesday, receiving 71 votes in this week's USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. The Jets (16-2, 5-0 Heartland) went on the road last week and picked up wins over conference opponents Texas-Permian Basin and St. Edward's on their home floors. Newman has won 10-straight games since a 71-65 overtime loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla.

The Jets will visit Goodwell, Okla. Thursday Jan. 26 to take on Oklahoma Panhandle State inside Oscar Williams Field House.
