WICHITA – The Newman women's tennis team won its fourth straight match, defeating Hastings College, 9-0, on Saturday (March 9) at West Genesis. The Lady Jets improved to 8-1 on the season.
 
NU dominated in the singles, dropping only eight games in the six matches. Kirstie Symon at No. 1 singles and Courtney Dold at No. 3 singles shutout their opponents, winning 6-0, 6-0. Lisa Pleskan at No. 2 singles, Taylor Jordan at No. 4 singles, and Jessica Brown at No. 5 singles all won by 6-1, 6-1 scores. At No. 6 singles, Alajandra Hernandez won, 6-2, 6-0.
 
In doubles, Symon and Jordan picked up an 8-1 win at No. 1. Pleskan and Carissa Villaflor got an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, Dold and Anna Le won 8-2.
 
The Lady Jets return to the court to take on Bethel on March 12 at 1 p.m. in Wichita.
