WICHITA - Jackson Schneider was announced as the new voice of the Newman Jets on September 1st, taking the reins as the new play-by-play announcer for the Jets Audio Network, as well as hosting the weekly coaches show, the Jetcast. The move comes after Blake Cripps took the lead play-by-play role at Emporia State.
Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications Zach Brake "I can't thank Blake Cripps enough for the work that he put in at Newman for the past ten years. From the inception of the Newman Jets Audio Netowrk to the maintaining of record books, Blake left his mark."
Jackson currently serves as the Sports Director at KSAL in Salina, KS , having spent the last two years as Voice of Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletics. Schneider was on the call for great moments like KWU's KCAC baseball championships in both 2022 and 2023, as well as their NAIA Opening Round run, and KWU Basketball's back to back trips to the NAIA National Tournament. He has also had stints working as an On-Air Personality and Sports Broadcaster in Colby, KS (KXXX) and Junction City, KS (KJCK). Jackson also spent one season working for Kansas Athletics as the Voice of KU Volleyball and Softball on the Jayhawk Radio Network.
Schneider is a 2019 Graduate of the University of Kansas, with a BS in Journalism in News & Information and a minor in Sport Management.
"I believe that Jackson is the right person to carry on the Newman Jets Audio Network and will be an advocate for not only Newman Jets Athletics, but the university as a whole," said Brake.
Schneider resides in Salina, Kansas and will cover Volleyball, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball, and Baseball throughout the athletic year on the air.
