Eileen Adams came to Kansas Newman after graduating from Marycrest High School in Denver, Colo., and played basketball from 1982 to 1986 under Coach Pat Thomas. Although the team wasn’t as successful in terms of wins, Adams left Newman with 12 records and continues to have six standing on the record books. These include career bests in points scored, field goals attempted, field goals made, free throws attempted, free throws made, and a game best of free throws in a game. She averaged double digits scoring all four years, with her junior mark of 17.7 points per game as her best, and received Newman’s Female Athlete of the Year award.
Over the past 20 years, she has been working for the Wichita Catholic Diocese as a physical education teacher, and is presently at St. Anne’s and St. Mary’s Derby. She has also coached high school volleyball at Andale, Northwest, and East High School.
